Why is it a good decision for UK to cancel £21m aid payment to Rwanda?
All Rwandan people welcome
the above UK ‘s decision because now UK
has started to listen to all Rwandan voices wherever they are.
This decision is indeed a respect to Rwandan people because they have no say about Rwanda’s government decisions on the use of foreign aid, especially in relation to funding periodical wars in DR Congo.
Even Banks which provide loans to businesses with expected returns in interests have conditions set in the agreements about what the money
will be used and how. The dictator
and war criminal Kagame should understand
this and that all donors behave relatively in the
same way.
DFID staff stationed in Rwanda are currently doing nothing because the UK aid to Rwanda is provided to the country in the form of budget support. DFID staff in Rwanda have no control of the way the budget support is spent. If the UK aid was channelled to Rwanda for specific development programmes, then the presence of DFID in Rwanda could be justified ( e.g follow-up, support, monitoring and evaluation, etc).
We are
requesting the UK to spend this £21m in the UK and for British people instead of keeping it for future use by the dictator and war criminal
Paul Kagame.
For example, this
amount could be used to
increase the hourly wage of UK carers
and other support workers who are paid
£6 per hour in London. Their difficult work involves assisting elderly
people in personal care including washing, bathing, dressing and toilet needs,
etc.

UK is right withhold aid to Rwanda because more conflicts is more UK aid to the countries involved in these conflicts. UK is saving money by asking Kagame to withdraw their support to M23. Congratulation to UK for this decision.
