[AfricaRealities.com] Spain-Rwanda: 11/40=29 Gen Karenzi Kayumba and Kabarebe still wanted

11/40=29 Gen Karenzi Kayumba and Kabarebe still wanted

The Rwandan Authorities through their local funded media outlets have been spreading their usual propaganda that the Spanish arrest warrants which led to the Arrest and Detention of Gen. Karenzi Karake in London recently that have been revoked is not only misleading, hypocritical but also full of lies. Indeed, it's unfortunate to the families and the suspects under this international prosecution. Under the big head line with the New Times the RPF mouth piece, "Spanish Supreme Court revokes warrants against 40 Rwandans, recognizes Rwanda's primary competence".

However, this is not true, for reasons we don't know, the RPF and the Attorney General of Rwanda don't tell the Rwandan people the truth particularly to the families and the suspects under this international sanction.

In fact what the Spanish Supreme Court has done is to uphold the earlier decision of the High Court that crimes which are retroactive in nature be stayed, accordingly the following suspects have been removed from the list of the arrest warrants not because they are innocent but simply because the law that they are under prosecuted is retroactive. Jack Nziza Samuel Kayemera(Sam Kaka) Twahirwa Dodo Karaka Misingo Alphonse Kaje Frank Bajunzi Dan Gapjizi ,John Butera ,Captain Matayo Peter Kalimba  and John Bagabo.

However, the following suspects including Gen Karenzi Karake remain wanted by the Spanish Prosecution and vulnerable to all European judicial jurisdictions.

  • James Kabarebe, Major General
  • Kayumba Nyamwasa, Major General
  • Karenzi Karake, Brigadier General
  • Fred Ibingira, Major General
  • Rwahama Jackson Mutabazi, Colonel
  • Rugumya Gacinya, Lieutenant Colonel
  • Dan Munyuza, Colonel
  • Charles Kayonga, Lieutenant General
  • Joseph Nzabamwita, Lieutenant Colonel
  • Ceaser Kayizari, Major General
  • Erik Murokore, Colonel
  • Denys Karea, Major
  • Evariste Kabalisa, Captain
  • Justus Majyambere, Major
  • Everiste Karenzi, Second Lieutenant
  • Alex Kagame, Brigadier General
  • Charles Musitu, Colonel
  • Gasana Rurayi, Lieutenant Colonel
  • Firmin Bayingana, Lieutenant Colonel
  • Agustin Gashayija, Brigadier General
  • Wilson Gumisiriza, Brigadier General
  • Willy Bagabe, Colonel
  • Wilson Gabonziza, Second Lieutenant
  • Samuel Karenzezi, alias "Viki," Corporal
  • Joaquim Habimana, Captain
  • Charles Karamba, Colonel
  • Silas Udahemuka, Major
  • Steven Balinda, Major
  • Gedefroid Ntukayajemo, alias "Kiyago," Captain .

Rwandans would like to know why they are not told the truth on these arrest warrants, why the Attorney General has continued to fool the Rwandan people and the Head of State, Rwandans deserve better and the truth of this matter.

[AfricaRealities.com] Rwanda court hears case to block third presidential term

Wednesday's supreme court case was quickly adjourned after the lawyer for the Democratic Green Party failed to appear. The debate about term limits and challenges to veteran leaders has flared in several places in Africa. The United States and other Western nations have been pressing African leaders to stick to constitutional rules on presidential terms. Wednesday's supreme court case was quickly adjourned...
